The wait is over for the holiday pop-up shops.
The grand opening was this afternoon.
Downtown South Bend had a roving grand opening ceremony for the five new shops.
They kept with the holiday theme so as they went from shop to shop they "unwrapped" the front door.
The program is a way to offer retailers a no-cost, short-term lease in a storefront for the holiday season.
While offering some unique items.
"Its really really good. You know one of the ideas is you don't want to be the same as everybody else. You want to be different you want to have a reason for people to come down so we have something you can't get at the mall,"said Director of Downtown Business Recruitment Tamara Nicholl-Smith.
The shops are on West Washington and South Michigan Streets.
They'll be open until December 29th.
