Notre Dame's Stellar record this year definitely has a lot of fans excited. It also has them paying more attention to teams other than Notre Dame. Several fans at Saturday's tailgate told us they're closely watching the other BCS ranked teams.
Fans are always there to follow Notre Dame and support the Irish. "We don't follow the team we live and die by the team," said Jimmy Weiler
But it's the winning streak that has them following other teams. More specifically those other top ranked BCS teams that will affect Notre Dame getting into the National Championship game. "We check the scores all the time. If Notre Dame's not playing during that we're putting those games on," said Notre Dame student Matt Doyle. And student Robert Luceri said, "even during mid game we'll be checking our phones like third quarter making sure other teams lost or won."
Die hard football fans admit they always pay attention to other teams but this year everyone is. "It means so much more with this atmosphere and environment and the Irish being number three in the BCS," said fan Tiffany Szymarek.
