It's a fun tradition at the costume store, Fun FX. And they've been known to call some elections based on which candidate's masks sold better!
This year, it seems, is a lot different than presidential elections of the past. Sales of Obama and Romney masks have been neck and neck, with Romney leading slightly the whole month of October.
But Obama mask sales picked up and took the lead over the last several days. During the last presidential election, mask sales were about 10 to 1 for Barack Obama.
And Fun FX owner, Victor Cao, says it was very clear who was going to win.
So does this mask poll usually work? Cao says, "Historically, it has. This year, it's a tough call. But we've been pretty right consistently for the last several elections but we've never come across this close of a mask race." Cao says it was very close -- within the margin of error -- if there is such a thing in a mask race!
