A man has pleaded guilty
to robbing and carjacking two Holy Cross students.
Prosecutors say Hakeen Hogan, who's
trial was scheduled to begin Friday, entered his plea in a Saint Joseph County
courtroom on Wednesday.
In 2009, Hogan was accused of
carjacking the students, then having them withdraw money from ATMs. Those charges
were dismissed after the victims couldn't identify Hogan. Charges were re-filed
in the case earlier this year after investigators say they discovered new evidence.
Hogan also pleaded
guilty to misdemeanor Battery in a separate
incident earlier this year. Police say they were called in July after a woman
says Hogan hit her in the head and slammed her head against the floor.
Hogan is scheduled to be
sentenced on December 5.
