A man has been sentenced to prison for his role in the death of a South Bend man.

Prosecutors say Stephon Rice was sentenced to 35 years in prison, with 10 years suspended, Wednesday in a Saint Joseph County courtroom.

Rice pleaded guilty to Voluntary Manslaughter in September for the November 2010 death of Cornelius Miller on Lombardy Street.

Four other people were also charged in connection with Miller's death. Two people, Brandon Rogers and Rene Vasquez, are awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to Assisting a Criminal. Two other people, Steven Rice and Brittney Watson, are scheduled to head to trial in early 2013.
