A man has been sentenced
to prison for his role in the death of a South
Bend man.
Prosecutors say Stephon
Rice was sentenced to 35 years in prison, with 10 years suspended, Wednesday in
a Saint Joseph County courtroom.
Rice pleaded guilty to Voluntary
Manslaughter in September for the November 2010 death of Cornelius Miller on Lombardy Street.
Four
other people were also charged in connection with Miller's death. Two people, Brandon
Rogers and Rene Vasquez, are awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to Assisting
a Criminal. Two other people, Steven Rice and Brittney Watson, are scheduled to
head to trial in early 2013.
