Veterans Day celebrated at Elkhart Elementary School

Mary Beck Elementary School celebrated Veterans Day on Friday. The principal served 20 years in the Marine Corps. He wants students to know why Veterans Day is so important. "So the kids know that freedom isn't free. That what we have today in this world, in the United States of America is because of veterans and because of those that gave their life before us," said Mary Beck Principal Richie Mendez.

Mendez reminded everyone to give a heartfelt thanks to any veteran you see this weekend.
