Every year the Disabled American Veterans fills Veterans Day with activities.
But this was the first time they had fireworks.
Because of the burn ban during the Forth of July they had thousands of dollars worth of fireworks to shoot off, and what better occasion than Veterans Day?
"We had 35-hundred dollars worth of fireworks that we needed to shoot off so we're doing that tonight for all the families and all the veterans and those that support the veterans," says Jim Gills, Commander of DAV.
A flag retirement ceremony and bonfire at the Res in Mishawaka was postponed because of strong winds.
It will be rescheduled when conditions improve.
