The Sanctuary at Saint Paul's held a ceremony recognizing 70 veterans today.
They also recognized a woman for her family's service.
Janet McElroy was given a flag to honor the military service of her late husband, brothers, sons and daughter.
One veteran talked about what the celebration means to him.
"Its great to be honored. Great that people still recognize the veterans. In fact I think I've noticed in the last few years there's more activity today than right after the war," said Doran W. Joseph.
Joe says just a simple thank you is sufficient.
