Posted:

Three people, including two young girls, are dead after an accident in Van Buren County. The crash happened on County Road 388 in Geneva Township.

Police say an Alabama man who was driving a truck tried to pass a car when he hit another car head on. That car was driven by 24-year-old Brittney King from Bangor. She along with 4-year-old Cassadi Berryhill and 2-year-old Kandice Berryhill of South Haven died in the crash. 24-year-old Justin Berryhill was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. The young girls were not in car seats when the accident happened.

A third car was involved in the accident but the driver was not injured.

The truck driver admitted he had been drinking. His identity is being withheld until he is charged. He has a prior conviction for operating while impaired. We're told his driver's license is currently suspended. He suffered cuts and possible broken bones and is said to be in stable condition.

Van Buren County Deputies are still investigating this crash.
