Hollywood meets South Bend with some help from the Studebaker Museum. If you catch Steven Spielberg's new movie "Lincoln" listen closely!
The filmmakers insisted on authentic sounds, so they arranged to record the side-door of Lincoln's Carriage opening and closing. The carriage is on display at the Studebaker Museum in downtown South Bend.
"A lot of folks are awful surprised to learn that President Lincoln's Carriage is right here in South Bend," says Museum Archivist Andy Beckman. "We hope as a part of this some more people come out and learn about Lincoln."
The experts came in, turned off everything they could in the museum and put up sound barriers to record the perfect audio. You can listen to their work when "Lincoln" hits theater's in wide-release on Friday.
