Looking good and giving back to the community. That's what one South Bend fashion show was all about on Thursday.
Sassy Magazine hosted its first ever Glitz and Sass Fashion Show at the Hilton Garden Inn. 70 models from 7 area boutiques did their little turns on the catwalk.
FOX28's Traci Capellman emceed the event while Allison Hayes strutted her stuff as a model. Traci was the magazine's first cover girl.
All the money raised goes to the local chapter of the American Heart Association. "We really believe that more people should become aware of heart disease, and heart disease in women in particular." said Creative Director Jena Bontager. "The statistics they show, most women actually don't know how serious of an issue it actually is."
Editor-in-Chief Betsy Tavernier said, "It's near and dear to my heart. I've lost some loved ones to heart disease. It's a wonderful local charity and the money stays local with go red."
There were plenty of prizes on hand: everything from gift cards, to massages, to photography packages. They even gave away a Menno Travel Spa trip for 4.
