The woman who crashed her car into a house in South Bend, killing a woman inside, won't be sentenced until December.
Something her family is struggling with.
"We were hoping to come in here and get closure and now we're not. We have to push this back until after Thanksgiving and probably like a week before Christmas so we're definitely not happy. I think frustrated is the best word to describe how we're feeling right now," says the victim's son, Matt Szymanski.
Erica McCaffery pled guilty to Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance back in September. In April of 2012, McCaffery lost control of her car and crashed into the home of 56-year-old Barbara Knapp.
Knapp was killed when the car smashed into her living room. McCaffery could spend up to 20 years in prison.
McCaffery had been scheduled to be sentenced on Monday, but it was postponed until December 19.
