It's become a big annual tradition in Michiana. We're talking about the Hope Ministries Thanksgiving Dinner. It takes a lot of preparation, time and effort to pull off such a large feast.
Ben Sadler from Ben's Backyard BBQ in Buchanan drives down from Michigan to help Hope Ministries in South Bend every year. HE KNOWS TURKEY! It takes his crews 12 hours to make enough for the generous feast.
Hope Ministries will serve about 300 meals on site and deliver about 500 more right to the front doors of people in need.
It's definitely a team effort! "I tell you... sometimes I get misty eyed," Ben says. "It's just a very, very rewarding experience for everybody that comes." More than 100 people are volunteering to help out this year.
