It's the busiest shopping weekend of the year. But Saturday wasn't about the Big Box stores like on Black Friday. It's was Small Business Saturday. A day when you're encouraged to support local businesses. A lot of local shops offered deals Saturday to draw the crowds in.
The Owner of Imagine That! in Mishawaka and South Bend said they had a lot of customers Saturday and actually, all week long. She's grateful for all the business. "We ran out of some of our Christmas merchandise already so I've been on the phone putting in some emergency orders," said Marlene Hollenkamp, Owner of Imagine That!
As part of Small Business Saturday Imagine That! offered a free kids play day. Kids played with toys in a room of the store while parents could watch to see what toys their kids liked. Then they could buy them and Imagine That! put everything in black bags so the kids could not see what their parents bought.
