Indiana First Responders are back after helping with Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts in Long Beach, New York. Clay Fire Captain Andrew Roberts is one of over 30 people from Indiana who arrived home Saturday. He said the group was in New York as an Incident Management team helping to control volunteer services and debris management. There's still plenty of clean up work to be done but Roberts said during the two weeks they were there they saw a lot of improvement. "When we arrived on scene 5% of the island had electricity. When we left 97% of the island had electricity. When we arrived there was not drinkable water on the island and they were unable to use their sewer system. When we left they now have safe drinking water and also are able to use their sewage system," said Roberts. He said even the mood of those living in Long Beach seemed to improve as well, "the feeling of the people is their rebuilding now. They're moving on. Sandy is something of the past and at this point they're focusing on rebuilding their homes, rebuilding their communities."
