Mishawaka High School held a pep rally Monday morning for its football team.
The Cavemen finished runner-up in the state championship game.
School officials say the purpose of the rally was to thank the players for their hard work and the student body for showing so much spirit.
Players say this season is one they will not soon forget.
"We played with such heart all year and the team chemistry was unbelievable, we went out and battled for each other, our brothers, every game, it wasn't about the individual goals, it was about winning as a team," says quarterback Sam Schrader.
The team finished the season with nine straight wins before losing in the championship.
