After the South Bend Parks and Recreation Department opened the Howard Park Ice Rink, it had to be closed again because the unseasonably warm weather melted the ice too much.
The Park hopes to reopen to rink soon.
Public skating sessions will take place:
- Monday through Friday from 3 to 5:30 p.m.
- Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon (with one paid adult admission, up to three children between the ages of six and 17 can skate free)
- Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 3:30 p.m. (Family deal, two or more adults or children for $5)
- Saturday and Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. (Free skate rental with any paid admission)
- Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. (Buy one get one admission with coupon available online)
Admission will typically cost $6 dollars for adults and $5 dollars for children. Kids under five years of age will get in for free. Skate rental is $3 dollars per session.
