Te’o a finalist for Lott IMPACT Trophy

Notre Dame's Manti Te'o is one of four finalists for the Lott IMPACT Trophy.

The Lott Trophy, named for Pro Football Hall of Fame member Ronnie Lott, is given to the defensive player who has made the biggest IMPACT on his team, on and off the field. IMPACT is an acronym for Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.

The other finalists are Georgia Linebacker Jarvis Jones, Stanford Linebacker Chase Thomas and Kansas State Linebacker Arthur Brown.

The IMPACT Foundation will award a $25,000 scholarship to the winner's university. Schools of the runner-ups will get $5,000 scholarships.

The winner will be announced December 9.
