Two local organizations are partnering to fight the battle against hunger.
Food Bank of Northern Indiana and Church Community Services based in Elkhart are joining forces.
Church Community Services will serve as a distributor for the Food Bank.
The partnership between the two organizations will allow for more food to be distributed to those in need.
There are currently over 26,000 people living in poverty in Elkhart County.
"All the hungry people in this county will no longer have to worry about where their next meal is gonna come from, we formed this partnership to make it efficient, make it effective, to make it a tremendous dignified experience for all the needy people right here in Elkhart County," says Milt Lee of Food bank of Northern Indiana.
The partnership will begin in the first quarter of 2013.
