The City of Elkhart will set aside 10 days to celebrate Winter. The City with a Heart will host Winterfest in its downtown area beginning Friday. Proceeds will benefit Church Community Services, Teen Challenge, Toys for Tots and more non-profit organizations.
Events include:
- Breakfast with Santa
- A Parade
- An art and gift walk
- A Santa's Community Christmas party
- A family dance
- A 5K Santa Fun Stroll
- A fire and ice show at Nibco Ice Rink

"You know you get excited. Holidays are close behind," said Superintendent of Elkhart City Parks and Recreation Department. "This way its something that everyone enjoys prior to."
There will also be a Broadway showing of "Miracle on 34th Street" at the Lerner Theater on December 5. You can win free tickets to the show by checking out the FOX 28 Morning Show Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Winterfest goes to benefit 12 nonprofit organizations in the area.
