Needy families in Elkhart had a welcome surprise Friday morning.
The Mobile Food Bank was in Eastern Elkhart handing out food to people with a valid photo ID.
Bottled water, fruit and vegetables were just some of the items that the bank had in stock.
Organizers say they want to make sure that people who need help are taken care of.
"We want to help people and we want to make sure everybody is getting food, there's so many hungry and insecure families in Elkhart County and when somebody offers a program like this we don't say no," says Shelley Long of Christ's Commissary Inc.
Rose said they brought enough food for up to 200 families.
