Before the game even started most fans knew who they wanted to see win the game, and ultimately play Notre Dame in BCS Championship game. And they didn't all agree. Skip Mahaffey said, "I want Alabama to lose this really badly." While Charlie Mcleod said, "I'd rather see Alabama and us play." Brett Newton said, "I kinda like the nostalgia of Notre Dame Alabama."
It was a game that Notre Dame fans said they weren't going to miss. "It's a big game," said Dion Bingham. Newton said, "I just wanted to see who Notre Dame was playing in the championship."
When it went final and everyone knew Alabama would be Notre Dame's competition in the BCS Championship game some were happy, like Newton, "For the country and college football I think it's a great matchup." Others, like Mahaffey, weren't. "I'm very bummed," said Mahaffey.
Now everyone is looking to the future and that BCS Championship game. And again there's disagreement. Mcleod is nervous, "our defense is very stout and they've got heart but that only gets you so far. I'm not trying to be a negative naysayer, I love Notre Dame but I'm just worried." While Mahaffey is very confident in the Irish. "Alabama can bring their best game forward I just don't see anybody, anybody beating the Irish."
It all becomes official Sunday during the BCS Selection Show. That starts at 8:30 Sunday night.
