St. Joseph County Metro Homicide investigators are trying to figure out who killed a South Bend man Saturday morning.
Metro Homicide Commander Tim Corbett says they got the call around 10:30am that a man had been shot in an apartment building in the 2000 block of Kemble Avenue.
The apartments are just above the Cutrageous X-2 barber shop.
That's also near the Armed Forces Reserve Center.
Investigators found 49 year old Darrell Laurence, who'd been shot.
He later died in the hospital.
Corbett says a man ran away from the scene wearing a black leather jacket and black hoodie.
Police dogs later found the jacket near the crime scene.
The investigation is focused in the stairwell behind the building that leads up to the apartments.
