An Elkhart homeowner was killed and a firefighter injured in a house fire Saturday morning.
In happened in the 1300 block of Magnolia.
When firefighters got to there, there was heavy smoke coming from the house.
When they went inside, the master bedroom was on fire.
Firefighters were able to put the fire out quickly.
The Fire department says Dan and Connie Gagax were in the house at the time and one of them died, but didn't say who or how.
A firefighter was also injured with a pulled muscle.
No word on how the fire was started.
