29 families received a Christmas treat Sunday by various Notre Dame groups.
These needy families from South Bend were chosen to partake in a night of Christmas festivities at Compton Ice Arena. There was dinner, a visit from Santa, ice skating, crafts, and lots of presents.
"It feels nice. There's so many of us who are so fortunate that we don't really think twice about shopping for our kids for Christmas or opening up the pantry to see what we want to make for dinner. It's just nice to be able to give back and do something good for the community," says Michelle Mensik, skating program coordinator.
This is the second year families were chosen for a night of fun and getting spoiled.
