Elkhart police officers took part in the annual "Shop with a Cop" event at Walmart.
Local schools select families that could use a little extra help during the holidays.
Then the officers take the kids shopping!
"We're quite surprised every year because they usually spend the money on their parents or their brothers and sisters," said Elkhart Police Department's Jim Ballard.
More than 30 kids were treated to a shopping spree tonight.
The officers tell us it's one of their favorite nights of the year.
