Some politicians are getting in on the BCS National Championship game excitement
Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox have a small friendly wager going.
If Notre Dame wins, Maddox will send Barbecue ribs from the Dreamland restaurant.
If Alabama wins, Buttigieg will send some South Bend chocolates.
They also asked each other to donate 100 dollars to the charity of each other's choice..
So that money will go to either the Tuscaloosa tornado recovery fund or to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Saint Joseph County.
"I think this is going to be fun," said South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg."I'm looking forward to having a taste of his Alabama ribs. And maybe we'll send him chocolates anyway once we win. So he knows how good they are."
Both mayors know each other since they were at a conference earlier this year about disaster response.
Fire departments in both cities have a friendly bet with duty shirts from their respective stations.
