We've all seen the salvation army bell ringers but have you ever seen a robot ringing the bell? Students with ElkLogics, a local robotics team, were making that possible today. They were busy designing and building a robot that can ring a bell. ElkLogics Member Covington Roberts said, "Usually we end up volunteering for the Salvation Army later in the year so actually you probably will see it out there on the streets later this year."
It was part of a day long build-a-bot-a-thon. The students had just 12 hours to finish the robot. The build-a-bot-a-thon was also paired with a pledge a thon for the Salvation Army. Students said they raised more than $1,000 for the organization.
