Dowagiac police are also investigating a robbery.
Police say a 27-year-old-man was walking in the 300 block of West Wayne Street when someone came up behind him and demanded money.
The suspect then took the man's wallet and ran off.
The victim said that he turned in time to see two black males, possibly in their late teens, running from the scene.
Police don't know how much money was taken, but the victim's wallet was later found in the area.
