If you plan on mailing gifts for Christmas you better hurry up. Many people in Michiana were doing just that Monday.
According to the US Postal Service, December 17 is the busiest day of the year at the post office. Folks in South Bend say they are trying send their gifts in time.
"I don't know, I was surprised it was so soon," said Chuck Moyer. "I would've thought it was closer to Christmas time before it was the busiest, they say this is the busiest day."
"I have a granddaughter who has a birthday," said Lori Main, "So we have birthday and then I'l be shipping more Christmas tomorrow."
Postal workers say they expect long lines for the rest of the week.
