It's one of the most beautiful parades in the world, and now a Walkerton woman is about to be a part of it!
Transplant recipient Maria Knowlton will be representing Indiana on a float in the 124th Rose Bowl Parade.
Knowlton was born with Cystic Fibrosis. Her lungs were damaged by the disease... but she's alive today thanks to a lung transplant. She's excited to promote organ donation in an event as GRAND as the Rose Bowl Parade.
"I am so excited," she says. "I've never been to California before and definitely never been in a parade this big. We've been in the Walkerton 4th of July Parade with our Cub Scouts, but I'm really excited to be in something this big."
Knowlton is a self-described "crafter," so she's really looking forward to getting to California so she can help DECORATE the float!
Knowlton is a volunteer with Indiana Organ Procurement Organization. Click HERE for more info!
