The Governors of both Indiana and Michigan are
asking citizens to take a moment at 9:30 a.m. Friday morning to pause and
remember the victims of the tragedy in Newtown,
Connecticut.
The moment takes place one week after
a gunman killed 20 students and 6 educators at Sandy Hook Elementary
School.
The moment of silence comes at the urging of Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy. He's sent a letter to all governors asking them to take part in their states. The Governor has proclaimed Friday a Day of Mourning in his state. Governor Malloy has also
asked places of worship and government buildings with bells to ring them 26
times at 9:30 a.m.
