LaPorte County police hunting sexually violent predator

LaPorte County police need your help locating a violent sex predator. They say 28-year-old Maurice Ward is wanted for a parole violation and failing to register as a sex offender.

Ward was convicted in 2004 for Criminal Confinement and identified as a Sexually Violent Predator. Police say they discovered Ward was registering his sex offender status with an old address and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Ward is 6'3" tall and 215 lbs. with short black hair and brown eyes. He has a tear drop tattoo under his right eye and is considered dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the LaPorte County Sheriff's Department at 219-326-7700 ext. 2406.
