Things were even busier than usual on Grape Road in Mishawaka.
Mishawaka police closed a portion of the road between McKinley and Catalpa for several hours Sunday afternoon.
Officers say a vehicle was turning out of Imus Street when a northbound driver tried to avoid hitting that vehicle, but lost control before hitting a utility pole causing a power outage up to Edison Road.
"The roads are wet, icy, slushy and slippery, so the faster you go the harder it will be to stop at times. The speed limits are meant for ideal conditions so we're going to ask that you slow down below the speed limit so you can try and avoid a situation like this," says Lieutenant Tim Williams with the Mishawaka Police Department.
Williams says no one was injured in the accident.
We're told the road is open and power has been restored.
