As the clock struck 7pm Monday, the Scottish rang in the new year and folks at Fiddlers Hearth in South Bend were happy to partake in an early celebration.
"Every year we always celebrate the Scottish Tradition. New Years is a really big holiday over in Scotland. There's a lot of bonfires, big feasts. They party for days," says Carol Meehan with Fiddlers Hearth.
"Fiddlers, they have great food here. Just the entertainment and being with friends," says David Flowers, who was celebrating the new year.
Folks said goodbye to 2012 some particularly happy to see it go, "Oh yes. Oh yes. way too much unwanted excitement," says Chris Flowers who was celebrating the new year.
Many revelers are hoping 2013 will be kind to them, in particular on January 7th.
"A national championship, that's first. That would be the best way to start out," says Chris Flowers.
Revelers say they mostly wanted health and happiness for the new year.
