Abandoned dog found taped in box

The Elkhart County Humane Society needs your help in finding the person who taped a dog in a box.

At 3:45 Friday afternoon some staff members heard a dog crying out but was unable to locate it. They eventually found a box taped shut at the end of the organization's drive way near a snow bank.

A dog's nose was poking through a hole in the box. Staff members opened the box to discover a Pomeranian dog. They say the dog was glad to be found.

The humane society says its a crime to abandon an animal like that. The Humane Society is asking that anyone with information about this dog or the circumstances to please call them at 574-848-4225.
