The five suspects charged with a December home invasion are now facing murder charges as well.
Police say they were investigating a call of a burglary in progress and found five people leaving a home on the 1000 block of North Michigan Street on December 27 of last year. Police found the two residents of the home, another woman, and two children injured inside. The had all been injured.
On Saturday one of the victims, Sandra Price, died from her injuries. The other victims have been treated and released.
The five suspects, 47-year-old Walter Neely, 21-year-old Khawana Lamar , 19-year-old Lee Griffin, 18-year-old Nate Coley and 17-year-old Gemari Cotton are now each charged with two counts of Felony Murder.
The five were already charged with two counts of Robbery and three counts of Burglary. Cotton is being charged as an adult.
The five suspects are expected in court on January 14.
