UPDATE: Early morning crash causes outages and road closure

Adams road has reopened after an early morning crash in Saint Joseph County that left hundreds without power.

The accident involved just one car and dispatchers say it happened a little after 2:30am on Adams Road near Gumwood in Saint Joseph County.

Two people were in the car that was heading east on Adams, the car swerved, knocked out a telephone pole and then landed on its roof.

Dispatchers tell us that both people sustained injuries and one of them was taken to a local hospital.

Officials have closed Adams Road so that A-E-P could work on replacing the telephone pole.
