The South Bend Fire Department is celebrating a big win. In 2012, the department reported no fire fatalities in South Bend city limits. Fire Chief Steve Cox credits the achievement to improved training and equipment along with safer construction materials used for the public.
The fire department will hold a press conference on Thursday at 10 A.M. to show how they plan to keep the record going and to show off their new SBFD Safety House that will be used for emergency preparedness.
