Health officials say it's early for the flu, but that doesn't mean it's not spreading fast. And in Michiana, people are trying not to catch the bug.
At Seifert Drug Store in Elkhart, pharmacists say they have been swamped with people getting flu shots.
They say they're well stocked on medication and vaccines and it's not to late to get your shot.
"I think there has been a little bit of a panic in the air. Plus again the Health Department's talking about it, the CDC is talking about it. It's becoming something that people are saying, maybe we should do this and it's good that people are coming in because as that occurs, there's less cases," says owner Hass Hakim.
He says if you are getting a shot, it can take 10-14 days for your body to build immunity, so you still need to take preventative measures.
