The Michiana Family YMCA kicked off its fundraiser, "Greatest Chefs of Michiana" Friday.
Teams from Michiana's top restaurants will compete in creating a delicious and unique dish.
Each chef will be paired with a well-known local personality and will unveil their healthy but tasty creations in the restaurants February 1st.
It will cost $34 to vote for your favorite creation and of course you can vote more than once!
It raised a much needed 140-thousand dollars last year.
"There are a lot of people who wish to use the Michiana Family Y or YMCA Camp Eberhardt that can't pay for that but they can get a scholarship because we are raising money for something like Greatest Chefs," said Event Coordinator Nancy Sinnott.
"And this is a community resource that sometimes gets forgotten about and you can't let it get forgotten about," said Owner of LaSalle Grille Mark McDonnell. " It's a great facility. Great charity. And it's a resource for the community to be healthy."
It also helps restaurants draw in more customers during February, one of their slower months. This year's teams include LaSalle Grill, Temper Grille, Papa Vino's and Cafe Navarre.
