Saint Mary's College in South Bend is considering adding graduate programs, which would mean admitting men.
St. Mary's President Carol Ann Mooney's contract was extended Monday to 2016. Her strategic plan for the women's school includes adding graduate programs.
Though not a done deal, if implemented, the graduate programs would need to follow federal education regulations. Those regulations require graduate programs to be co-ed.
Some men do currently attend classes at Saint Mary's who are enrolled at sister school Notre Dame.
