The St. Joe County Health Department is doing its part to curb the flu. If your child is un-insured or under-insured you can have them vaccinated with the flu mist for free. The mist is for school-aged children.
The health department wants to get as many children immunized to stop the flu from spreading even further.
"For every one child who is immunized, that's maybe a brother and sister who didn't get it. It's not passed on to mom or dad, they don't have to take off of work to stay home with a child who can't go to school," said Nicholas Molchan with the Health Department.
The nasal-spray vaccine is available at the Health Department's clinic inside the County City Building in downtown South Bend.
