William Karimu (Courtesy St. Joseph County Police)The man accused of beating an elderly Mishawaka woman to death plead guilty to Murder. Lois Hickey's body was found in December of 2011 in her home on the 300 block of East Donaldson.
The 19-year-old suspect, William Karimu, was charged in March of 2012 but needed to be extradited from Sierra Leone. He was taken into custody and arrived back in St. Joseph County in September.
The original charges were Murder, Burglary, and Felony Murder. The Burglary and Felony Murder charges were dropped as part of the plea agreement.
Karimu is expected back in court on February 14 for sentencing. Karimu faces between 45 and 65 years in prison for the murder conviction.
