Manti Te'o has chosen to do an off camera interview with ESPN Friday night. Even before that interview we talked to fans about what they want to hear from Manti Te'o. The majority of people we spoke to said that Manti Te'o definitely needs to say something publicly.
Gaven Taylor said, "He should really just say something about it." That's what most Irish fans are thinking now. They don't want to hear from Notre Dame, reporters, or anyone else but Manti Te'o. "He's the only one who at the end of the day can close the door to this and this chapter. So he needs to speak up and address it," said Jerry Ross. Connie Szymczak said, "because he is in the public eye I think it'd be nice for him to come out and tell us exactly what went on."
Of course there are some who disagree. Karlee Taylor said, "I think everybody has their right to their own freedoms they don't have to make anything public if they don't want to no matter how famous they are." Justin Moody said, "I don't want to hear from Manti. I mean these things have happened but I don't necessarily feel he has to say things to us."
But for those who say Manti does need to say something, they have a few specific questions they'd like answered. Kylee Krueger said, "I want to know if he was in on it or if he was just a victim." Gaven Taylor wants to know, "Is it really a hoax?" Timmy Calderone said, "I would just like him to explain everything, clear everything up and how everything happened."
Bottom line, they just want Manti to tell the truth. "So we can then make our own judgments then on the truth, not all the speculation that's out there," said Szymczak.
