Just a few days after President Obama unveiled his gun control initiative, gun owners are coming together to celebrate their second amendment rights.
They're calling Saturday Firearms Appreciation Day.
At Midwest Gun Exchange in Mishawaka, a lot of people were coming into the store and saying, "Happy Firearms Appreciation Day."
There's been a lot of chatter on social media encouraging people to go to their local gun shop and show their support.
"It's a big topic that a lot of other countries don't have and can't embrace. Everybody's kind of getting together today and talking about it and celebrating the fact that we're allowed to do that," says Rocco Rigsby with Midwest Gun Exchange.
Midwest Gun says they can't really say whether Saturday's event drove up gun sales.
They say they've simply been very busy since the Newtown School shooting.
