Notre Dame's annual student film festival started Thursday.
Students premiered their films at the Browning Cinema on campus.
These filmmakers in training are film, television and theatre majors.
The short films are class projects.
They study filmmaking, shoot on location and use the acting talents of Notre Dame students and faculty.
"One of the great things is to see these students kind of blossom in their undergraduate education and also to see where these films go after the film festival," said Film and Television Faculty member Ted Mandell. "We've had many of these films over the past years go to national film festivals around the country."
Audiences can pick the best film by texting their vote and the winner will be announced Saturday night.
The festival ends Saturday night.
Tickets range from four to seven dollars.
