Elkhart County Sheriff's Department is investigating two robberies at Elkhart cigarette stores from Friday night. The Elkhart Cigarette Outlet was robbed shortly after 2:00pm this afternoon, and then shortly before 7:00pm the Low Bob's. Both stores are on SR-19.
The Elkhart County Sheriff's Department says two men entered the Cigarette Outlet and demanded money from the cashier. The robbers may have been armed with a taser. The robbers took an undisclosed amount of cash along with several cartons of cigarettes and other items from the store. The men then threatened the cashier, told her not to call police, then fled the scene.
The suspects are described as white males with a height of 5-10 and weighing 160-170 lbs. They were wearing black hoodies, light colored pants, and had blue or black bandanas covering their faces.
At Low Bob's two men entered wielding some kind of hatchet and ordered the employees to the ground. A woman stood at the door during the robbery. They made it out with an undisclosed amount of cash, cigarettes and other items from the store.
The suspects
in this robbery are described as two white males and one white female in
their 20's. One white male was wearing a camo style hoodie, jeans, and
is 5'10" tall and weighs between 160 and 170 lbs. The second white
male was wearing a red jacket with Indiana in white letters across the
front. He had jeans on and is 5'10" tall and weighs between 160 and 170
lbs. The third suspect is described as a white female with a heavy set
build. She was wearing a dark colored jacket with a fur lined hood, and
her face was covered with a cream colored scarf.
Police are not saying at this point whether the two cases are connected.
