Heritage Square became a winter wonderland Saturday. It was their 7th Annual Ice Carving Festival. About 12 sculptures were judged and several more now fill Heritage Square in front of the shops. Organizers say it's a great family activity. "Most of the carvers are super interactive with the kids and the families just showing them techniques and tools that they use. A lot of the kids like the blow torches," said Kahli Anthony with Heritage Square.
Meteorologist John Fischer was a judge for the competition part of the festival. Mike Evans won the hearts of both the celebrity judges and the crowd. His flying heron sculpture won 1st place and the people's choice award. The money from the festival goes to Martin's heat for homes.
