It was a big recruiting weekend for the Notre Dame football team and it paid off... The Irish have received a verbal commitment from Four-Star Tight End Durham Smythe.
Smythe is 6'5, 230 pounds. The Texas native originally committed to the Longhorns last spring but de committed in December.
He visited South Bend this weekend and that was the push he needed. He tweeted his decision Sunday.
Smythe chose Notre Dame over Texas, Michigan, Stanford, Oregon, Florida, and Georgia.
He is the 23rd commitment for the class of 2013.
